On April 17, Verizon Wireless will be eliminating the 1-year contract option officially. All prior 1-year contracts will be valid until the contract is over. Instead, there will only be 2-year contracts available. They claim that they are making this move because a majority of their customers opt for the 2-year contracts. Some see it as an attempt to hold their customers down for longer. For those who have commitment issues, Verizon says they will keep their month-to-month services and may have a $50 unlimited talk/text plan. The data services would of course be extra.
